Date Posted,June 17, 2017

Dani Alves has slammed rumours surrounding Gonzalo Higuain’s “goodbye” message.

The Juventus right-back was recently interviewed on a Brazilian TV show which featured a video message for him from teammate Higuain.

In the short clip, the Argentine declared that it had been a pleasure to play with Alves as well as saying goodbye.

Here’s what Higuain has to say in full: “Dani, brother, what can I say?

“A massive hello from me, you know how much I care about you.

“It was a pleasure and an immense joy to share this year with you, winning titles along the way.

“You know I hold you in huge regard and I wish you all the best with everything you do in life.

“I hope we’ll play together for longer because it truly is a pleasure.

“Bye, genius. Never change, keep spreading your happiness. It’s what matters most in life – laughing and being happy.”

In recent weeks, the 34-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City and to reunite with former boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

As a result, Higuain’s ‘goodbye’ was taken to mean Alves was definitely leaving. However, the Brazilian took to Twitter to crush any such speculation.

Alves’s response

Following one such report from Premium TV, Alves said: “Don’t talk s***, Pipita sent a video to me on a TV programme, do you job well please.”
