Bride and gloom for Moses as he gets married the day after Wembley red card

Date Posted,May 28, 2017

Victor Moses had to pick himself up – literally – after his FA Cup final red card to get married the next day.

Wing-back Moses’ brilliant season ended on a sour note when he was sent off after being shown a second yellow for diving.

This has been a breakthrough campaign for the 26-year-old Nigeria international, who has finally forced his way into the Chelsea team after being loaned out in the previous three seasons.

After the final, Blues skipper John Terry said of Moses: “He is down, but it is important that the group pick him up.

“He has come back to the club, because year after year he has been sent away [on loan] by managers. The manager has showed big faith in him this year and he has been excellent, so [we’re] just trying to pick him up.

“Naturally he is down and the poor fella has got his wedding tomorrow as well. But he’s been excellent all season, so no-one’s to blame.

“It is one of them things. It’s just disappointing.”
