Carragher brands Neville a “fraud” as legends’ Twitter spat continues

Date Posted,July 15, 2017

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have engaged in yet another heated social media debate.

The Sky Sports pundits appear to have a strained Twitter relationship, despite their on-screen chemistry.

Their rivalry has seeped through from their playing days where Carragher spent his whole career at Liverpool and Neville at Manchester United.

The latest spat is over Carragher’s new profile picture – a animated version of him, which in all honesty isn’t a great likeness.

Fan Chris Williams accidentally started the spat when he questioned Carragher’s new avatar on Twitter: “Why have you got giggsy as your profile pic?”

Carragher hit back: “It’s supposed to be me! Send me a few ideas for a new one!!”

At which point Neville chimed in with a suggestion – which was a snap of the former Reds man with his head in his hands looking dejected.

Carragher replied with a picture of Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell from hit TV series Prison Break – played by Neville lookalike Robert Knepper.

Angry Neville, who appears happy with his current profile picture, didn’t appreciate the likeness and instead posted a picture of him playing for United along with a list of the trophies he won at Old Trafford during his glittering career.

This got Carragher, who won the Champions League and two FA Cups in his playing career, annoyed as he tweeted a rant accompanied with poo emojis.

Carragher said: Before Fergie Utd since he left thank your lucky stars you played under him T-Bag! And take 1 CL off you were in a suit you fraud!!!”

The go between is just the latest in a long running war.
