Definitely Red, Jurgen? Liverpool boss reveals who he got in Grand National sweepstake

Date Posted,April 7, 2017

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed The Last Samuri is his pick for this weekend’s Grand National.

The German, who admitted he’s not massively into the sport, selected the horse in his club’s personal sweepstake.

And he’ll be hoping that last year’s runner-up can do the business for him at nearby Aintree when the Grand National gets underway on Saturday afternoon.

When asked for his pick, the Reds boss replied: “The Last Samuri – not bad, eh! Hopefully it’s not the only lucky moment of this weekend!

“I don’t know these guys, I’m not [into] these kinds of sports. It’s good? Not bad! I like the movie, so maybe the horse is OK also!”

Klopp’s horse, carrying a stone more than last year, is certainly in contention to win the famous steeplechase with odds at 18/1.

The German will be in Stoke while the race is taking place on Merseyside hoping to bounce back with a win at the Britannia Stadium.
