The France forward has been strongly linked with a move to the La Liga giants following Neymar’s £199million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Bundesliga club are holding firm in their valuation of Dembele, and have already rejected a bid from Barcelona.
Catalan paper Sport says Dortmund rejected that bid, understood to be in the region of €70million, as it included too many variables and is also well below what they consider to be his worth.
Sport claims the Germain outfit want at least €100million and are in fact holding out for closer to €110million.
At this point it is unclear whether Barcelona will come back with an improved offer for the France international or focus their attention on other target Philippe Coutinho.
But eagle-eyed Barcelona fans spotted Dembele apparently dropping a hint on social media by removing ‘Dortmund’ from his Instagram bio.
Sure, it means very little in the grand scheme of things, but it’s bound to get Barcelona fans excited, and perhaps settle the nerves of Liverpool supporters.
