England forward Daly describes ‘frightening experience’ after collapsing during NWSL game

Date Posted,May 27, 2017

England forward Rachel Daly collapsed during a National Women’s Soccer League game in the United States.

The Houston Dash star dropped to the ground in the closing moments of the contest against Seattle Reign and was quickly taken to hospital.

The 25-year-old has since been released from hospital and has labelled the sweltering conditions, with temperatures reaching more than 32C, as ‘unsafe.’

“It was a frightening experience,” Daly said in a statement on social media. “Everyone who knows me knows that I’m a player who will give everything and those conditions are not safe to play at your maximum.”
