England Lionesses star ready to crush another host nation’s dreams in Euro 2017 semis

Date Posted,August 1, 2017

England reserve goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain says facing the hosts of the Women’s Euro 2017 holds no fears.

The Liverpool No.1 knows what it takes to quell a tournament’s home nation after coming on in the 2015 World Cup quarter-final against Canada in Vancouver.

And ahead of Thursday’s semi-final with Holland in Enschede, Chamberlain said: “We’ve beaten Spain and France but now we’ve got a different challenge against Holland, who will have all their supporters behind them.

“But in that World Cup quarter-final we were playing in front of 50,000 Canadian fans and we coped with that, so we’ll go out there feeling confident we can get the win.”

Chamberlain came on as a late sub against France in the last round for Karen Bardsley, who broke her leg .
