Griezmann TWICE refuses to congratulate Varane on Champions League wiN

Date Posted,June 5, 2017

Antoine Griezmann proved just how dedicated he is to Atletico Madrid by refusing to congratulate Raphael Varane’s Champions League win.

The French defender recently tasted glory in Cardiff as Real Madrid won their third major European trophy in four seasons.

As the France team met up ahead of their World Cup qualifying clash with Sweden on Friday, the squad took it in turns congratulating Varane.

Didier Deschamps then took it one step further by insisting the entire team clap the efforts of the centre-back, and they all gladly applauded.

Well all except Griezmann that is who twice appeared to snub Varane and his achievements with Los Blancos.

As the above video shows Varane is approached by a queue of players, including Laurent Koscielny, who are happy to praise him.

Griezmann walks his way but appears to quickly change direction and look off into the distance to snub a potential handshake.

Griezmann is later seen sitting alongside the rest of the France squad at a table.

Everyone applauds excitedly on the command of their boss as Varane beams in delight. The Atleti man is again the odd one out as he fails to clap.

The France forward looked certain to move to Manchester United in the summer, but the deal appears to have collapsed, at least for this season.

Atletico saw their transfer ban upheld, meaning they can’t replace the 26-year-old, and Griezmann isn’t prepared to leave his club in the lurch.
