Eddie Howe is set to hammer Tyrone Mings after the Bournemouth defender posted pictures of himself shirtless in an Irish bar on social media this week.
The Cherries‘ boss had given his squad two days off after their weekend win over Burnley.
Mings, 24, had the club’s support following his five-game FA ban for stamping on Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic in March, but will get no such sympathy this time after his antics in Dublin.
“I have been made aware of it,” said Howe. “That will be dealt with internally.
“We would not expect any of our players to be acting in that way during the season or even off-season, to be honest. It doesn’t hold us in a good light.
“We have given the players a couple of days off this week. At this this stage of the season it is about keeping the minds fresh, the bodies fresh is all important. But the players have to be professional in between to make sure that they perform for the game so that is a disappointing thing to hear.
“You are always representing the football club whether you are in season, off season or wherever you are and what part of the world you are in. Professional footballers know that. It is disappointing because we want to focus on football and nothing else.”
Howe has been nominated for Premier League Manager of the Season — and he’s already got the vote of Ruby Wax.
The American comedian, who performed in nearby Poole this week, said: “He is easily the best looking manager in the Premiership right now, he’s hot!”
Howe responded: “That is a huge compliment. I take that very seriously.
“It is very nice. I didn’t show she was appearing in town. I might go and see it now.”
