Juventus suffer injury scare ahead of Champions League final… as MANAGER Allegri sustains muscle problem

Date Posted,May 30, 2017

Juventus have suffered an unusual injury scare ahead of the Champions League final as boss Max Allegri sustained a muscle problem in a charity game.

The Italian was taking part in ‘La Partita del Cuore’ when he pulled up, but will be fine to take his place in the dugout as the Old Lady face Real Madrid in Cardiff on Saturday evening.

Allegri left the pitch clutching his right thigh and said: “Is this a joke? Absolutely no, I was having fun and I was injured, it’s just muscular.

“You can try to challenge everything … but not age!”

The 49-year-old made over 370 appearances during his playing career before turning his attention to coaching.

Allegri was joined by F1 stars Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen for the match at the Juventus Stadium.

The Ferrari duo were joined by reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi at the event which raised funds for the Piemontese Foundation, Cancer Research and the Telethon Foundation.

Vettel was all smiles after heading to the match on the back of his victory in the Monaco Grand Prix, extending his lead over Lewis Hamilton at the top of the Drivers’ Championship to 25 points.

Raikkonen made it a Ferrari one-two having pitted five laps earlier than his teammate.

And the Fin continued his impressive few days with a hat-trick on the football field.

Italian legend Allesandro Del Piero was among other stars taking part with artists Gianni Morandi, Eros Ramazzotti and Paulo Belli also playing.
