Kante names Chelsea’s best FIFA 17 player – but says competition is fierce

Date Posted,May 25, 2017

N’Golo Kante has named Thibaut Courtois as Chelsea’s best FIFA player.

The Premier League champions are privy to a game of FIFA during their downtime from traning.

Kante is a popular member of the Chelsea team having joined last summer and is known to take on his team-mates in the video gaming stakes.

He takes on right-back Cesar Azpilicueta regularly – but says that he is not necessarily the best gamer in the squad despite securing regular victories over the Frenchman.

Speaking to , Premier League Player of the Season Kante said: “I tend to play against Cesar Azpilucueta a lot, who is very good and usually beats me, but he said that Thibaut Courtios is very good as well, so I guess I will have to say Thibaut Courtois is the best.

“He beat me once. I think he and Azpi are the best, but (Kurt) Zouma and David Luiz are also very good.

“We seem to have some quite good FIFA 17 players at Chelsea.”

Kante insists that the games do get competitive when the players face off – as seen when Diego Costa appeared to lose his cool when facing Kante in a game earlier in the season.

The pair faced off for a game in a hotel room ahead of their Premier League game at Bournemouth this past season.

Azpilicueta was among the crew watching on as Costa became frustrated with something that happened in the match.

He removed his shirt and proceeded to rant at Kante in Portuguese – although the pint-sized midfielder didn’t seem fazed.

“Oh yes, it does get competitive,” said Kante. “Sometimes I win and sometimes I lose but we have such a good squad harmony.”
