The Reds are third behind title-chasing Chelsea and Tottenham.
But with four games left to play this season, they face a real battle to finish inside the top four after last weekend’s surprise home defeat by Crystal Palace.
If both Manchester City and Manchester United beat struggling Middlesbrough and Swansea this Sunday, Liverpool will find themselves down in fifth when they take on Watford on Monday.
Klopp believes that would underline how tough the English top-flight is – and how even the European elite wouldn’t find it easy.

When Alexis Sanchez almost joined Liverpool
“In my opinion, even for the greats of Spain it would be difficult to win the Premier [League]. Very complicated,” he said in an interview with Spanish sports daily Marca.
“Of course, [Real] Madrid and Barca would be fighting up for everything, but it would be very difficult. They would not take it safely. In the Premier League there is nothing certain. The intensity is very high and many things happen in the games.
“There is not a single crash in which you win 4-0 comfortable and you can rest the headlines. That does not exist in the Premier League.”
Klopp wants Liverpool to confirm their return to the Champions League next season.
But the German admits things could have been a lot different, if they hadn’t squandered as many points having lost six and drawn nine to see them 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.
“We are up there, fighting in positions that give access to the Champions League, but I say: with five points more everything would look different,” he said.
“I know where we’ve lost games, but it’s done and you can not change anything. There are few days left and we will fight for the maximum. We have no other than that. This is Liverpool.”
