Klopp reveals his favourite player at Real Madrid – and it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo

Date Posted,April 28, 2017

Jurgen Klopp has revealed the one player he truly admires from Real Madrid – and it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo.

Instead it is his German compatriot, former Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos.

The midfielder, 27, signed for the La Liga giants back in 2014 for around £25million and played a pivotal role in their Champions League success last season.

Real are hoping to retain their European crown in Cardiff should they beat rivals Atletico Madrid in the semi-final, while Zinedine Zidane’s men are still battling Barcelona for the La Liga title.

And Liverpool boss Klopp believes Kroos is essential to their hopes of being successful.

“Toni Kroos is an exceptional footballer, a genius,” he told Spanish sports daily, Marca.

“He is so subtle with the ball. In the Real is very important.

“I like him very much. He knows what to do with the ball always.”

Another player the Liverpool boss admires from La Liga is Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets.

He added: “Busquets is only 28-years-old, right? What a player!

“He seems to have been playing 16 years in that position.”
