Alexandre Lacazette has spoken of his first impressions at Arsenal and revealed the player who has impressed him most in training.
The 26-year-old signed for the Gunners earlier this month in a club-record £52million deal.
After years of monitoring the striker, Arsenal decided to bite the bullet after Lacazette scored 37 goals in 45 appearances last season for Lyon.
And the Frenchman has carried on from where he left off in France, scoring in Arsenal’s first pre-season game against Sydney FC.
Following the north Londoner’s first friendly, Laurent Koscielny grilled Lacazette to find out what his first thoughts of Arsenal were.
What are your first impressions of Arsenal?
“They were good. Straightaway you can see it’s a squad with loads of experience. Arsenal is a well-established club with excellent staff who make sure everything runs smoothly.
Which players have helped you settle in?
“It’s mainly been the French players like you, Olivier [Giroud] and Francis [Coquelin]. They’ve all helped me a lot.”
Who has impressed you most in training?
“Lolo [Koscielny]! Because for a centre-back he’s pretty skillful.”
Who have you been spending the most time with?
What’s surprised you most of all about becoming an Arsenal player?
“It wasn’t exactly a surprise but it was interesting for me to discover all that’s involved in being part of a big club. It’s something I was looking forward to and now it’s a reality.”
