Lacazette set for home debut as Wenger names three youngsters in Emirates Cup squad

Arsenal’s club record signing Alexandre Lacazette will make his home debut for the Gunners in the Emirates Cup while Arsene Wenger has also included three rising stars in his squad.

Lacazette is set for his first run-out at Emirates Stadium following his £52million move from Lyon and is relishing the chance to play in front of the home fans for the first time.

The French forward wasted no time getting off the mark for the Gunners scoring 15 minutes into his debut during the 2-0 win over Sydney FC.

The prolific forward will get plenty of time to get used to his new surroundings as Arsenal prepare to play two games over the weekend against Benfica on Saturday and Sevilla 24 hours later.

Despite speculation over his future with the north London club, Mesut Ozil also takes his place in the squad while Hector Bellerin will also be hoping to stake his claim following another summer of uncertainty surrounding his own future.

Wenger has shown his trust in the youngsters once again by naming Cohen Bramall, Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock in the squad.

Nelson was one of the standout performers on the club’s tour to Australia and is being tipped to make a major breakthrough into the first-team.

Defenders Rob Holding and Calum Chambers who played for the England U21s in the European Championships during the summer will also take part in the tournament.

Alexis Sanchez and Skhodran Mustafi are expected to resume training on Sunday and will not play any part in the tournament.
