Klopp hailed Liverpool’s Anfield clash with City – the last Premier League game of 2016 – as the game everyone wants to see, before the parties begin.
Second-placed Liverpool host third-placed City in a game neither can afford to lose if they are serious about catching current leaders Chelsea.
“I know people are excited when they think about it,” said Klopp. “There’s nothing to do except prepare the party for afterwards while everyone watches the television.
“The good news is we are involved. It’s not City versus someone else, it’s Liverpool against Manchester City.
“We’re some kind of a challenger. We don’t care about being favourite, it feels like we’re challenging in each game and now we have to make the people happy again. It’s possible.”

Klopp faces the press ahead of Man City clash
Klopp felt City let Chelsea off the hook when they relinquished a 1-0 lead at home to lose 3-1, allowing Antonio Conte’s side to maintain their winning run, which now stands at 12 games.
“Chelsea are six points ahead but, in that game, City should have scored a second with Kevin De Bruyne,” said Klopp, aware of how dangerous City can be at their best.
“It’s possible then that the game is closed. The next situation is an equaliser.
“In that game, they were much the better team. They could have won, but they didn’t. But they’re already really, really good. We’re in a very intensive moment, a good moment and we need to keep on going, But we have to adapt to the different qualities of the opponents.
“This team is on a good way, we like how out football is and we have to prove it every few days. That is what we’ll try to do on Saturday.”
City boss Guardiola said: “This is not a final but like a final — an important game for both teams.
“I like a lot the way they play, for the spectators, because in three or four seconds they are attacking.
“When he (Klopp) speaks about his football being heavy metal, I understand completely, it is so aggressive.
“For the fans it is really good. Maybe he’s the best manager in the world creating teams who attack the back four, with this amount of players, this intensity, with the ball and without the ball.
“I don’t think there’s another team in the world attacking this way with so many players inside.
“When you play against teams by Jurgen Klopp, the tactics are so important. You have to be at that level but they have a specific way to attack and you have to control.”
