Manchester United star Jesse Lingard is determined to have a rapid start to the season and has been hitting the gym with a specially designed programme.
Lingard is gearing up for another big season after United secured Champions League football once again and knows there will be fierce competition for places.
The Manchester Evening News reports the England star worked with former West Brom midfielder Akil Griel last summer to ensure he was fully ready for the arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho.
And this summer – back from his holidays – he has been showing his dedication with Manchester-based fitness specialist Wayne Richardson.
The diminutive Lingard worked on gaining more muscle mass last summer and has been putting in the effort under the guidance of Richardson Sport founder Wayne, who has worked with Manchester City, Leeds, Sheffield and a host of non league clubs.
The Reds midfielder has enjoyed on a summer break – including a trip to Miami with teammate and pal Marcus Rashford.
But he is back to work now with United regrouping for pre-season on July 8 and showed his followers how hard he has been grafting via his Instagram account.
Lingard made 18 Premier League starts under Mourinho last season and will be keen to make an impact again with United linked with the likes of Ivan Perisic this summer.
