LIVE: Wenger addresses Mourinho’s handshake offer ahead of United clash

Date Posted,May 3, 2017

Morning…

Arsene Wenger may still be hopeful of a top four finish but Jose Mourinho seems to have given up hope.

He suggested last night he would be focusing his efforts on the Europa League instead.

Mourinho said: “I think it would be a good achievement (to win the Europa League) given our problems and that would allow us to be back to Champions League next season.

“We are going to try, and that’s why the Europa League becomes more important for us now.

“In relation to the Premier League I think it’s too late because in the past month we played nine matches, seven of them in the Premier League.”
