Liverpool fans absolutely delighted as Barcelona complete £97m deal for Dembele

Date Posted,August 25, 2017

Barcelona smashed their transfer record to sign France international Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund for a staggering £97million on Friday.

But it wasn’t just fans of the Catalan club who were absolutely delighted with the business, Liverpool supporters were just as happy.

Now this might seem a little odd given that a European rival has taken a brilliant player off the market, but we think you’ll agree it does make sense.

Liverpool fans have spent almost all of this transfer window worrying that the Catalan giants were going to swoop in and steal their best player, Philippe Coutinho.

In fact, the Brazilian was so keen on going to Spain himself that he handed in a transfer request in a bid to push through a move.

Barcelona saw three huge offers snubbed in their pursuit of the midfielder, as Liverpool attempted to ride the wave of pressure to sell.

And finally it seems as if they have done exactly that, what with Barcelona seemingly giving up on the 25-year-old to land Dembele.

As the news broke, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to celebrate the good news, and of course, to announce the good news.
