Liverpool fans furious at “cowardly” way in which Coutinho demanded move

Date Posted,August 10, 2017

It’s been a turbulent day for Liverpool fans what with Philippe Coutinho personally submitting a transfer request.

The news left many supporters – who believed the Reds snubbing a huge Barcelona bid would be the end of the saga – understandably disappointed.

But it wasn’t just the Brazilian handing in his transfer request that upset fans, it was the way in which he chose to do it.

It is understood Coutinho’s representatives suggested privately he would be submitting the request at Friday lunch time.

The 25-year-old then sent an email to the club setting out a formal transfer request.

Players usually go through their representatives when officially asking their club to leave, but Coutinho opted to do it directly.

However, given that he chose not to do it in person, and instead via email, went down quite badly with the Reds fans.

FSG have rejected the request and made clear their intent to ensure the Brazilian is a Liverpool player when the window closes.

But that hasn’t stopped Reds fans from voicing their disappointment.
