Liverpool striker Sturridge a major doubt for Crystal Palace clash

Date Posted,April 21, 2017

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has emerged as a major doubt for the Reds’ home clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The news will come as a big blow for Jurgen Klopp who is already missing several stars through injury.

The German revealed on Thursday that Joel Matip, Lucas and Ragnar Klavan were also all doubts for the weekend’s clash.

Sturridge has sat out of several training sessions at Melwood and a decision on his availability will be left until tomorrow, reports the Liverpool Echo.

A hip problem was the latest of several niggles which hit Sturridge this year and he has not started a Liverpool game since the League Cup semi-final against Southampton at Anfield in late January.

He came off the bench to feature for 20 minutes against Stoke and 10 minutes against West Bromwich Albion in the last two Premier League games but he has started just nine games in a red shirt this season.

Matip and Lucas both took part in training yesterday but worked with the rehab coach while Klavan also trained outside.
