Date Posted,December 25, 2016

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has invited Sir Alex Ferguson back to their Carrington base.

The Special One revealed the legendary Red Devils boss has been back at their headquarters this season.

Fergie left Old Trafford in 2013 and had not been present at their training ground until being welcomed with open arms by Mourinho.

The United chief, speaking to United We Stand fanzine in a wide-ranging interview,: “He had not been back since he left, but I brought him back to be with his people, to see the people he had worked with for so many years, for him to watch the training sessions.

“I wanted the players to see the big man and for me and him to share some minutes and have lunch together. I enjoyed it, he enjoyed it.

“I’m the type of person who does not see ghosts. I respect the past and I know he loves the club.

“We have good relations and I know this is his house.

“When he wants to come here, to the dressing room, to see the players train, he knows he is more than welcome.”
