Man United fans convinced De Gea is saying goodbye with this Twitter update

Date Posted,May 21, 2017

David de Gea took to social media after the final day of the Premier League season and posted a message to the Manchester United fans.

The Instagram post itself is not particularly telling given that the Spaniard simply thanks them for their “unconditional support”.

But that hasn’t stopped Red Devils fans fearing the worst now that the 2016/2017 campaign has drawn to a close and the transfer window will soon open.

The reason fans are worried is because their talented keeper has been continually linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Back in 2015 de Gea was apparently on his way to Real, what with Manchester United agreeing to a £29million deal for the then 24-year-old.

The transfer broke down however due to an issue with paper work, but that hasn’t quelled Los Blancos interest in the Spaniard.

Real appear confident of finally getting their man this summer, with Zinedine Zidane making the goalkeeper a high priority signing.

Jose Mourinho is hopeful of keeping the 26-year-old however, recently telling reporters he will be in a Man United kit come the start of the season.

“David [de Gea] is top of the world,” said the Portuguese. “And obviously we want to keep top of the world.”

United fans are unsure however, well, if the comments on de Gea’s recent Instagram post are anything to go by.

“Please, please De Gea don’t leave us. We love you so much. Don’t go De Gea,” wrote one, while another said: “Just one more season. Please stay. We need you.”

A third added: “Don’t leave David. Manchester United is your home forever.” And a fourth concluded: “Goodbye, we will miss you, thanks for the best seasons.”
