Date Posted,July 7, 2017

Los Blancos left-back Marcelo has revealed what Zinedine Zidane said at half-time to inspire Real Madrid to victory in the Champions League final against Juventus.

The Old Lady had only conceded three goals en route to the final, and with the score a tense 1-1 at half-time – after Cristiano Ronaldo’s opening goal was cancelled out by Mario Mandzukic’s brilliant overhead kick – it was going to be a tough task for the Madrid side.

But in an interview with Night of the Stars , 29-year-old Marcelo revealed what Zidane said to inspire his men to victory over Juventus.

Asked what Zizou said during the interval, Marcelo replied: “What Zizou said was very simple. ‘Let’s play. Let’s get the ball. Let’s get right on top of them’.

Marcelo also revealed that the Frenchman made a game-defining tactical switch. The Brazil star added: “He put Isco more to the left to help me a bit, and give a bit of liberty to Modric.”
