Mbappe heading back to Monaco as speculation over Real transfer continues

Date Posted,July 8, 2017

Kylian Mbappe is on his way back to Monaco – but speculation over his future remains rife.

Mbappe remains the most sought-after striker in world football with Real Madrid the favourites to smash the transfer record in order to secure his services.

The 18-year-old has took to social media to confirm that his summer holidays are over and he is heading back home.

Mbappe will likely sit down with Monaco club chiefs upon his return, as he looks to confirm where his future lies.

Reports suggest, however, that Real could end up missing out on Mbappe’s services due to a reluctance to pay the extortionate wage demands.

Paris Saint-Germain now appear to be Real’s biggest challengers for the Frenchman’s services, while Arsenal retain an interest despite completing a deal for Alexandre Lacazette.

Marca report that Real are unwilling to break their strict wage structure in order to land Mbappe.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale both earn approximately £350,000-a-week each.

Toni Kroos, Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, James Rodriguez and Sergio Ramos are all also earning eight figure sums per week.

Mbappe got pulses racing on social media when he posed to sign a contract last week – but it happened to be a new sponsorship deal with Nike.

He uploaded the picture to Instagram, where he caused a bit of a stir among fans thinking he was either penning a new deal at Monaco or moving on.

But for the time being at least it seems he will be staying at Stade Louis II, despite the continued interest from Europe’s elite.
