Kylian Mbappe was back in training with Monaco on Monday as speculation over the Frenchman’s future continues to dominate the headlines.
The 18-year-old is the subject of world-record interest from a clutch of Europe’s giants, but is still a Monaco player as things stand.
Real Madrid are leading the race to secure the France international’s services, who scored 26 goals for Monaco in all competitions last term as they won Ligue 1.
Mbappe could move to the Bernabeu in a sensational £161million deal, but some reports in Spain have suggested Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t altogether happy with the speculation.
Diario Gol say the Portuguese has held talks with president Florentino Perez, believing Mbappe’s signing would hurt his own chances of winning the Ballon d’Or down the line.
Los Blancos skipper Sergio Ramos, however, has said he would welcome Mbappe’s arrival.
“It’s not a decision for me but Mbappe is a great prospect, there are not young players around like him,” he said.
“We have an important year ahead of us and already have excellent players. But it’s money which moves football and people can pay what they want.
“If he wants to come to Real Madrid the doors will be open.”
Manchester City and Barcelona have also been linked with moves for the striker.
