Monaco defender ‘likes’ Instagram post linking teammate Lemar with Tottenham

Date Posted,June 8, 2017

Djibril Sidibe is set to send Tottenham fans wild with excitement after he ‘liked’ an Instagram post linking Thomas Lemar with a move to north London.

The Monaco star has been on Spurs’ radar ever since he scored in both of his side’s 2-1 wins over Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the Champions League.

But Arsenal are also keen on the 21-year-old, with boss Arsene Wenger a long time admirer of the France international.

Whether the Frenchman will leave the Ligue 1 champions this summer remains to be seen, but his teammate Sidibe has dropped a hint as to where he could go – or perhaps, where he would like him to go.

The Monaco defender spotted an optimistic post on Instagram, showing his teammate superimposed in a Spurs shirt, accompanied with the caption: “Welcome Lemar”.

He responded to the post by giving it a ‘like’, although he could just be a fan of the Instagram user’s picture editing skills.

Tottenham fans have reacted calmly for the most part, waiting to see if their club will indeed make a move for the Frenchman.

One Twitter user claimed that Sidibe probably thought it was funny that someone went to all that effort to superimpose the star in a Spurs kit.

Another added: “Only thing I’m taking from this is that jersey looks great.”
