Jose Mourinho has been nicknamed “Daisy” by his Manchester back room staff.
The playful name is in reference to the Portuguese boss always getting a lift to the training ground.
Mourinho has been at Old Trafford for a year now but still lives at the Lowry Hotel and is chauffeured around Manchester and the rest of the country.
It is believed Mourinho has a chauffeur on speed dial ready for any journey.
The nickname is a nod to the 1990 Oscar winning comedy-drama movie Driving Miss Daisy.
The film sees Miss Daisy, played by Esther Rolle, struggling to accept Hoke Colburn, portrayed by Hollywood megastar Morgan Freeman, as her driver – after writing off her car.
The joke is understood to have been started by builders working on the Carrington training ground entrance.
A United insider told the Sun: “Apparently, it was one of the builders working on the Carrington site who first joked ‘here comes Daisy’ when Jose’s car pulled in one day.
The paper also claim that the staff are too scared to called the 54-year-old Daisy to his face.
