Perisic set to reject Inter’s offer of a pay rise as Man United move closer to signing

Date Posted,June 27, 2017

Ivan Perisic is prepared to reject Inter Milan’s offer of a pay rise to land a move to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho has identified Perisic as one of his top summer targets and the Croatia winger is keen to team up with him at Old Trafford.

Perisic, who scored 11 goals and had eight assists in Serie A last season, is even ready to snub Inter’s offer of a new contract.

Inter want to table an improved £85,000-a-week deal until 2021 to replace his current £68,000-a-week contract, which has three years left to run.

Perisic, 28, is reluctant to commit his future to the San Siro and feels he could challenge for the Champions League and Premier League with United.

Inter are keen to hang on to their prized asset, with coach Luciano Spaletti insisting he is not for sale.

However Inter need to raise 30million euros, or £26.5million, before the end of the month to avoid falling foul of FFP regulations.

United are understood to value Perisic around this mark, but Italian sources claim Inter would want much more to part with the former Wolfsburg star.
