Portugal cup final match ball delivered to referee by man surfing DRONE

Date Posted,May 28, 2017

Match balls being delivered in weird, wonderful and wacky ways is no new thing.

Reading once had a helicopter land inside the Madejski for the last game of the season in order for the spectacle to have its match ball.

But how the ball was delivered for the Taca de Portugal cup final might just take the biscuit.

A man literally surfed a drone across the pitch and a good 50 feet into the air in order to give the referee the ball.

We have no idea why he did it, but it’s brilliant.

Following the ball’s arrival, Benfica proceeded to beat Vitoria Guimaraes 2-1. Two early second half goals from Raul Jimenez and Eduardo Salvio helped seal the tie.

Manchester City target Ederson Moraes played all 90 minutes.
