Sergio Ramos was dramatically sent off as Real Madrid recorded a 3-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna in their opening La Liga game.

Ramos received his marching orders in injury time after he jumped up using his elbow.

The Real Madrid skipper was lucky to escape a red card earlier in the game after he raised his hands towards Deportivo La Coruna defender Schar.

Replays showed he clearly raised his hands towards the Switzerland international.

Both players were caught up in the melee as a number of players got involved after Schar appeared to put his head in after squaring up to Ramos.

The home fans were calling for the Spanish star to be sent-off but referee Jose Luis Gonzalez appeared to miss the incident as he only brandished a yellow card to both players.

Real Madrid recorded a comfortable victory in their opening La Liga game as goals from Gareth Bale, Casemiro and Toni Kroos helped Zinedine Zidane’s side get off to the perfect start as they look to defend their La Liga crown.
