Real Madrid “unhappy” over Ronaldo silence and want him to clarify his future

Date Posted,July 3, 2017

Real Madrid have been left unhappy over Cristiano Ronaldo’s silence and want to finalise his long-term future with the club.

Ronaldo has dominated the headlines once again during the summer after reports stated he wants to leave the Spanish giants.

The Portuguese star was accused of tax evasion by the authorities in Spain last month and A Bola newspaper reported that he wanted to quit the Champions League winners and his decision was “irreversible”.

Ronaldo has been away with Portugal at the Confederations Cup since the revelations emerged, but has refused to answer any questions about his long-term future.

The prolific forward was named man of the match in three of Portugal’s games but was unable to help them reach the final after they were beaten by Chile on penalties in the semi-finals.

Ronaldo was allowed to miss the third and fourth place play-off game against Mexico on Sunday as he travelled back to the Spanish capital to be with be his new-born baby twins.

But reports suggest Madrid have not heard anything from their star forward and there has still been no public comment from the 32-year-old on his future.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently stated that he wants Ronaldo to stay at Real Madrid for the rest of his life and is a major part of the club.

Although Ronaldo is just beginning his summer holiday and Madrid are keen to respect his privacy during that time, they are also keen to make contact and resolve his situation as quickly as possible.

Reports in Spain suggest that Madrid remain confident they can persuade the star striker to remain at the Bernabeu, but want to clarify why the the player has been possibly using the media to threaten a summer exit.
