Redknapp makes Man United title favourites if they sign Bale – “He’d rip the Premier League apart”

Date Posted,August 6, 2017

Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester United would be favourites to win the Premier League title if sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Welshman for much of the summer, with Jose Mourinho revealing he will “fight” for the £85million man if he is no longer wanted by his club.

Bale has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane, and ahead of Manchester United’s Super Cup clash with Real Madrid, Mourinho suggested he would be keen on signing the former Spurs favourite.

And Redknapp, who watched Bale make a name for himself at Tottenham under his father Harry, believes Manchester United would stroll to the title with him in the team.

“If it did [happen] think you should just give Manchester United the trophy now,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News.

“It won’t be to do with anyone else because Gareth Bale is that good. He would rip the Premier League apart if he came here.

“I think the way that he plays – in that team – he would be sensational. There are only a few players that can do what he can.

“He is sensational. He is made for the Premier League.”
