Rooney proves he is in great shape with impressive holiday workout video

Date Posted,July 1, 2017

Wayne Rooney looks fit and raring to go as he hits the treadmill during his Spanish holiday.

The Manchester United striker was criticised last season for looking slow during a campaign that saw him spend a lot of time on the bench under Jose Mourinho.

But the 31-year-old former England captain is determined to prove he can still cut it and according to those who saw him working out in Ibiza, he is in superb shape.

A fellow guest said: “Wayne has been going in the gym two or three times a day to work out.

“He has made a big effort to be in top condition and it looks as though it is working.”

Rooney’s future is still up in the air, as it is unclear where England’s record goalscorer will be playing at the start of next season. A move to China has been mooted, as has a return to his boyhood club Everton. However, there remains the possibility that he could stay on at Old Trafford.

United players report back to Carrington on Saturday before flying out to California on Sunday for the start of their pre-season tour where they will play five games.

The Red Devils will take on the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona while in America.
