Shocking footage emerges of Aston Villa fans attacked on pre-season tour of Germany

Date Posted,July 25, 2017

Aston Villa fans were attacked at a pub whilst travelling for the club’s pre-season tour in Germany.

A small group of fans were targeted by a gang of hooligans outside Irish bar O’Reilly’s in Dusseldorf at the weekend.

Villa fans were in Germany for the Cup of Traditions tournament, which was held at MSV Duisburg’s Schauinsland Reisen Arena yesterday.

Footage of the attack has been shared on social media and was brought to the Birmingham Mail’s attention by the Facebook page Aston Villa Away .

In the video, objects including chairs can be seen being thrown towards the bar, where it is thought a small number of Villa supporters were gathered with their families at around 7pm on Saturday evening.

It was filmed by the owner of a nearby bar next to O’Reilly’s and appears to show a man kicking another in the head while he was on the floor.

The incident marred an otherwise enjoyable weekend for Villa fans in Germany as their team won the pre-season competition with victories over MSV Duisburg and Hertha Berlin.
