Stoke City star Peter Crouch makes Radio X debut after securing two-week slot on show – and listeners love it

Peter Crouch made his Radio X debut on Monday after securing a two-week slot to host a show – and it’s safe to say his fans loved it.

The Stoke City forward, who is a massive music fan, was asked to fill in for regular host Gordon Smart while he is away on holiday.

And he didn’t disappoint listeners of the show, playing a selection of hits in his 90s-heavy set including Oasis track Live Forever as well as some Ocean Colour Scene and Stone Roses.

But then why would he have disappointed them?

Speaking to Radio X ahead of his debut, the 36-year-old explained: “I love Radio X and the music the station plays so I’m excited about being in the hot seat.

“I have a few stories I’m looking forward to sharing and some visitors I’m looking forward to welcoming to the studio. All will be revealed next week.”

Crouch’s debut on the show was praised by fans

Aside from this, Crouch has regularly been seen watching live bands, including Kasabian and Peace – even appearing in a music video for the latter.

While in smaller venues he has been spotted with wife Abbey Clancy watching her brother’s band Judas play, as well as London four-piece Sisteray and Brighton group White Room.

Crouch, who will no doubt be looking to the future beyond football, will be on air on week nights between 7-10pm and Sundays from 1-4pm for the next fortnight.
