United fans are getting very excited about £30m Lindelof after video emerges

Date Posted,June 11, 2017

Manchester United fans were already pretty excited about the prospect of Victor Lindelof after Jose Mourinho agreed a £30.7million deal for the centre-back.

Well, whenever your side is prepared to part with a lot of cash there is always the expectation that you’re going to buy one hell of a player – the answer to all your problems.

The excitement usually dies down until they have make their debut, at which point, all eyes are back on them, scrutinising every little thing they do.

However, the elation hasn’t died down among the Man United fans just yet. In fact, they’ve got even more excited, if that is possible.

And the reason for this is pretty simple. Budding scouts on social media – or rather, those fans who want to find out a little more about a player – have been doing their research.

And a number of Manchester United supporters have uncovered a pretty impressive bit of footage from the Euro U21 final back in 2015.

The game sees Sweden take on Portugal in a contest they managed to win 4-3 on penalties, after a goalless draw at the end of extra time.

Playing in that game was Lindelof, representing his nation Sweden, and doing a great job at the back by all accounts in helping his side keep a clean sheet.

But it wasn’t the defensive aspect of his game that caught the eye of Man United fans, rather it was what he is able to do with his feet.

Now the Red Devils have some very technically gifted players in their ranks, but at centre back, well, not so much.

In the clip, which has been shared among fans like wildfire, Lindelof is seen running at pace with the ball before performing a Zidane turn.

He expertly manoeuvres his way past two players – like the Real Madrid and France legend himself – before looking to play the ball.

Maybe United fans are right to be excited.
