Arsenal supporters are keeping a very close eye on everything the club is up to as the transfer window looms ever nearer.
But they’re also keeping a close eye on who may leave the club, which if anything, appears to be occupying most of their thoughts at the moment.
The reason for this is that star man Alexis Sanchez has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at the club, and could be on the move.
A number of tops clubs are keeping tabs on the forward, and according to reports in Chile, the 28-year-old has even agreed terms with Man City.
This has yet to be confirmed however, so there is still the chance they will keep hold of the former Barcelona forward, who they hope can turn them back into a Champions League side next season.
But one club reportedly hot on the heels of the Chilean now appear to have cooled their interest in him after signing a star in a similar position.
The team is Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, and the player is of course, former Gunners winger Serge Gnabry.
The young German, who joined Arsenal’s academy back in 2011, was sold to Werder Bremen last season following an unsuccessful loan spell at West Brom.
He rediscovered his form in his home nation, scoring 11 times for Bremen as they finished 8th in the Bundesliga.
And subsequently caught the eye of the German champions, who snapped Gnabry up on a three-year deal after he announced he would be leaving Bremen after one season.
Bayern are now unlikely to move for Sanchez, meaning Gnabry’s transfer to Bremen – which at the time frustrated some Arsenal fans, who couldn’t understand why the club let the prospect go – was all part of Arsene Wenger’s masterplan…
